The forensic department of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) started collecting the DNA samples of the relatives of the victims in Sitakunda fire incident.

The DNA sample collection began at Chittagong Medial College Hospital on Monday morning.

Chattogram Civil Surgeon Mohammed Elias Chowdhury confirmed confirmed the matter to the Business Insider Bangladesh on Monday.

“Samples are being taken from two family members of each of the victims,” he said.

However, it may take time to analyse the samples, he added.

More than 300 people were injured in that fire that broke out Saturday night following an explosion at BM Container Depot at Sitakunda in Chattogram.

The fire is yet to be tamed until filing the reports at 2.15pm on Monday.
