In Pictures: Monkeys of Old Dhaka

These monkeys of the Rhesus macaque species have been living in the Gandaria area of ​​Old Dhaka for more than a hundred years.

At present there are more than two hundred monkeys.

Due to the food crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the monkeys are eating the food given to them by the people walking on the road. Besides, the monkeys survive by eating food like bananas, biscuits and nuts provided by the locals.
