7 new Covid cases with zero death recorded in last 24hrs

The health authorities recorded a total of seven new cases of coronavirus with no related death in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

The current rate shows a downward trend in the infection of the virus compared to that of the previous day, according to the government data.

The infection rate of the virus declined to 0.45 percent which was 0.72 percent a day ago, said the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) in a handout on Tuesday afternoon.

With the updated data, the death toll of the virus remained static at 29,445 while the caseload rose to 20,37,780, said DGHS.

The health department diagnosed the new cases after testing 1,555 samples at 884 government-authorised laboratories during the same period across the country.

Meanwhile, some 326 people were released from the virus-related illness, pushing the total number of recoveries to 20,00,423.

The mortality rate of the virus remained unchanged at 1.44 percent while the recovery rate climbed to 98.17 percent from yesterday’s 98.15 percent.

Bangladesh registered its highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28, 2022, and daily fatalities of 264 on August 10 in the same year.

Since the outbreak of the virus in Wuhan province in China in 2019, the health authorities in Bangladesh confirmed the first case on March 8, 2020, and the first death on March 18 of the same year.

Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, recorded 67, 92, 928 deaths caused by the virus so far and 67,90,07, 684 cases worldwide.
