PM visits Walton Mega Stall at Dhaka Int’l Trade Fair

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the impressive mega stall Walton after inaugurating the 28th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2024 at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal on Sunday.
The prime minister commended the remarkable progress of the local brand in manufacturing hi-tech items during her visit to the Walton stall, which featured 'Made in Bangladesh' labeled products, reports a press release.
She specifically expressed her satisfaction with Walton's brand of laptops, smart fridges, air conditioners, televisions, lifts, and energy-saving home appliances.
Additionally, she commended Bangladesh's progress in manufacturing such high-quality products.
S M Mahbubul Alam, managing director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, who was present during the prime minister's visit, said that the prime minister commended Walton for its initiatives in manufacturing products of the highest standard with advanced features.
Sheikh Hasina said that Walton is a source of pride for Bangladesh's electronics industry, noting her awareness of the diverse range of products manufactured by the company.
She commended the commendable progress of both Walton and Bangladesh in the production of hi-tech products.
The premier also her all-out satisfaction upon learning that Walton brand products are being exported to various countries.
During her visit, certain challenges related to the export of products and overseas investments were discussed with the prime minister.
In response, Sheikh Hasina and her Adviser Salman F Rahman assured government policy support in addressing these issues.
During her visit at the Walton mega stall, State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam (Titu), Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC's Director Tahmina Afrose Tanna, its Additional Managing Director S M Shoyeb Hossain Nobel and Major General (Retd.) Ibne Fazal Shayekhuzzaman, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam and EPB's Vice-Chairman AHM Ahsan, among others, were present.
