Dhaka Nagar Paribahan starts journey Sunday

The Dhaka Nagar Paribahan will primarily start operation from Sunday. Coloured in green, the buses will run from Ghatarchar to Kanchupr route.

Abu Naser, public relations officer of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.

He said that the journey will begin with 30 BRTC double-decker buses and 20 buses from Transsilva Paribahan. A total of 100 buses will be added to the fleet by the next two months, and no buses will be allowed to run without a route permit. 

The total distance of the route is around 27.5 kilometres and the bus fare per kilometre is Tk 2.15.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the programme and DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, among others, will be present at the event.
