India records near 1 lakh cases for 4th consecutive day

India reported 91,702 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the country has reported less than 1 lakh cases for the fourth consecutive day.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a net decrease of 46,281 in active cases has been reported in the last 24 hours.

The country's Covid-19 caseload now stands at 29,274,823 million and the death toll at 363,079, according to the health ministry's dashboard updated at 8 am.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours stood at 134,580 and the tally surged to 27,790,073 taking the recovery rate to 94.93 per cent, the data showed.

According to the health ministry, India's daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new Covid-19 cases for the 29th consecutive day.

The weekly positivity rate stands at 5.14 per cent while the daily positivity rate at 4.49 per cent and remained below 10 per cent for the 18th consecutive day now.

The testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and 37.42 crore total tests have been conducted in the country.

Meanwhile, 24.6 crore Vaccine Doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive that began on January 16.
