India reported a spike of 2,76,110 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours till Thursday, according to the data released by health ministry.
The total case tally has risen to 25,772,440 while 3,874 deaths were recorded in last 24 hours, the lowest since May 15.
The overall death toll due to the virus has reached 2,87,122, reports The Times of India.
India reported 4,000 deaths or more on seven off the 10 days. Since recording its highest ever daily cases tally of 4,14,188, the country has reported a decline in the cases.
There are 31,29,878 active cases in the country, comprising 12.14% of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has improved to 86.74%, the data updated at 8 am showed.
India's Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.
It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
India crossed the grim milestone of 2 crore on May 4.
