West Bengal elections: 4 killed in firing in Cooch Behar

The voting is under way at 44 seats are spread across the districts of Howrah, Alipurduar, Coochbehar and 24 Parganas (S).
This includes regions adjacent to Kolkata, like parts of Howrah town and the seats in 24 Parganas (S) like Jadavpur, Behala and Tollygunj.

Locals claim central forces opened fire that killed four people in Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar, the Indian media said in its live update report.
Deceased identified as Ananda Burman (18), a first-time voter; still unclear who fired the shot, it said.
A voter killed while standing in a queue at a booth in Sitalkuchi of Coochbehar district, allegedly in firing. Additional force has been sent to Sitalkuchi in Coochbehar where a voter was killed in the firing while he was standing in the queue.
Car of MP and BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee was ransacked at Bandel in Hooghly district.
Besides, the Election Commission has asked for a report from special police observer over the Mathabhanga firing incident.
