3-day int’l tourism fair begins in Dhaka

A three-day international tourism fair titled 'Biman-Dhaka Travel Mart 2024' begins on Thursday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel here to showcase the country's various tourism products and services.

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam inaugurated the fair as the chief guest, said a press release.

Organised by the country's leading travel and tourism publication 'The Bangladesh Monitor', the fair is supported by the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines as the title sponsor, reports BSS.

In addition, Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) and global distribution system company 'Sabre' became the partner and technology partner of the fair, respectively.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md. Mokammel Hossain, Biman Managing Director and CEO Shafiul Azim, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, Sabre Country Head Saiful Hoque, Tourist Police DIG Md. Abu Kalam Siddique, and Bangladesh Monitor Editor Kazi Wahidul Alam, among others, spoke at the event.

Over 80 organizations from home and abroad, representing airlines, hotels, resorts, travel agents, tour operators, training institutes, medical tourism agencies and other travel-related service providers are showcasing their products and services at over 100 booths and pavilions.

Participating companies are offering special discounts on airfares, hotel room rents, tour packages and others for visitors.

The fair will be open for all from 10am to 8pm every day on payment of an entry fee of Taka 50 per person.

A raffle draw on entry tickets will also be held on the closing day, February 10 with exclusive prizes, including local, international return air tickets and hotel stays.
