The commerce ministry has decided to continue the Dhaka International Trade Fair this year by following the health guidelines strictly. The visitors have to comply the health guidelines in the fair to prevent the outbreak of the new coronavirus variant Omicron.
Md Hafizur Rahman, additional secretary (export) of the ministry, informed the matter to the media on Tuesday noon.
Hafizur Rahman said the activities of the trade fair will go on following the health guidelines.
“There is no problem in continuing the fair by following the health guidelines. Besides, there are no such situations to close down the fair.”
Besides, strict monitoring will be conducted at the fair so that people follow the health guidelines properly, he added.
Earlier on January 1, the Dhaka International Trade Fair kicked off at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre at Purbachal – the outskirt of the capital city Dhaka. The fair will continue until January 31 this year.
In this edition of the fair, 227 organisations of 11 countries are participating. There are 23 pavilions, 27 mini-pavilions, 162 stalls, and 15 food shops received allotment.
Like the other years, the Bangabandhu Corner has been installed in this fair which exhibits various contents including the Mujib Borsho, golden jubilee of the independence, among others.
