Products, culture of Bangladesh to be showcased in Dubai expo: Tipu Munshi

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said the government will showcase products, culture and heritage of the country in the upcoming Dubai Expo-2020 as the nation moves to economic graduation

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said the government will showcase products, culture and heritage of the country in the upcoming Dubai Expo-2020 as the nation moves to economic graduation.

The renowned Dubai Expo-2020 will kick off from October 1 and will continue for six month, Tipu Munshi told reporters at the commerce ministry on Monday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the expo, he said.

The minister said expatriates have applauded Bangladesh for its journey on par with the developed countries of the world.

The UAE government has decided to hold the world’s largest commercial event from October 2021 as last year’s scheduled expo was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

A good number of countries of the world have already started taking preparations and Bangladesh is not lagging behind, he said.

Bangladesh has spent 6 lakh US dollars to build various infrastructures needed to participate in the expo. Bangladesh’s display centre will be built on 436 square meters and that the facility will be a two-storied one. The space of the second floor will be 342.56 meters. Experts believe that there is a huge opportunity to present Bangladesh globally through this exposition.
