Gambia has shown keen interest in importing jute and leather goods from Bangladesh.
Gambian High Commissioner Mustapha Jawara in a meeting with textile minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak at the latter’s secretariat office here today expressed interest, reports BSS.
Talking to reporters after the meeting the textile minister said the high commissioner praised the Bangladesh government for the development in different sectors.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including the opportunity for Gambian students to study in different educational institutions in Bangladesh.
They also discussed the progress of various development projects of Bangladesh’s textiles and jute sectors.
Gambian High Commissioner greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for forming the government for four consecutive terms.
Replaying to a question, Nanak, also Awami League Presidium Member, said BNP is unleashing terrorist activities to grave state power in the name of movement.
BNP doesn’t want the country’s progress and prosperity that’s why the party is becoming isolated from the people, he said.
Nanak urged the BNP to shun the politics of terrorism to take forward the country.
