A special program was launched today marking the celebration of Nuclear Day and the beginning of the science festival.
During the roadside events, the young professionals will closely interact with people and brief them about the use of nuclear technology in the safe generation of eco-friendly electricity, especially about Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, its safety features and the socio-economic benefits of the project, reports a press release.
They will also give answers to the questions to come from the people and will arrange science-based quiz competitions and games to garner people’s attractions.
Most active participants and winners of competitions will receive attractive souvenirs and gifts. Apart from these, informative leaflets and booklets will also be distributed among the common people during the journey.
The Nuclear Bus tour is organised for the second year with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) and Rosatom State Corporation of Russia.
The first ever Nuclear Power Plant project at Rooppur of Ishwardi in Bangladesh is being implemented with the financial and technical assistance of Russia.
The Rooppur NPP will host two units, each with a generation III+ Russian VVER 12OO reactor, which meets all international safety requirements.
