Two innovation challenges have been launched to create more financial solutions and assist both the Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSME) and women in accessing and using formal financial services.

The Senior Secretary for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Bangladesh, NM Zeaul Alam, launched the Cohort-1 Innovation Challenge of Financial Innovation Lab Bangladesh on Wednesday.

The challenges are jointly organised by a2i Programme, United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), and MicroSave Consulting, said a press release.

Applicants are invited to submit proposals for the “Women’s Financial Inclusion Challenge 2022” to develop more gender-responsive financial solutions that help women to access and use formal financial services.

Applicants are also invited to bring innovative digital solutions to help CMSMEs get better financial access, lower their costs of capital, and steer away from exploitative, high-cost, informal loans.

Interested applicants can apply at http://www.challenge.gov.bd/ to join the Innovation Challenge.

The last date for the proposal submission is October 7.
