Russell T Ahmed has become the new president of the Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS).
BASIS members elected a new 11-member Board of Directors known as Executive Council (EC) for a two years term by direct voting on December 26, 2021, said a press release.
The newly elected Executive Council (2022-2023) officially took over the charge on January 2, this year.
The EC has the overall responsibility for running the affairs of BASIS and setting policy guidelines for its secretariat.
Established in 1998, BASIS is the national trade body for the software & IT-enabled industry of Bangladesh.
Besides, BASIS has been actively working with the government in digitization and automation processes and to achieve the target of $5 billion from software and ITES export by 2025.
