Netflix registers for VAT in Bangladesh

Netflix, a US-based video streaming platform and production company, has obtained a Business Registration Number (BIBN) from the National Board of Revenue (NBR), known as VAT Registration.

The company received BBIN as a non-resident organisation in Bangladesh from the Dhaka South VAT Commissionerate on Wednesday.

The company has used a Singapore address for the registration. It is registered as Netflix PTE Limited Singapore. From now on, the company will pay VAT by submitting regular VAT returns from December.

Earlier, the world's largest tech giants like Facebook, Google, Microsoft took VAT Business Identification Number as a non-resident organisation.
