WhatsApp to stop working on certain android, Apple phones

WhatsApp is going to stop working for certain old phones. From 1st of November the instant messaging application will stop working on certain types of Android and iOS mobile phones, something that will undoubtedly affect millions of people.

The reason behind this move by WhatsApp is that these are old devices and keeping them supported would require enormous resources to be devoted to them, reports India Today.

Also, it is a fact that WhatsApp has undergone several changes over the years and new features have been added that these phones do not support.

Also, there is the problem of security. Providing security on these old devices is extremely difficult for the Facebook-owned app.

Here is a complete list of smartphones that will no longer be supported by WhatsApp:

Additionally, WhatsApp has also warned that “In WhatsApp Web, the desktop version for computers, users will also not be able to enter, since it is necessary to scan a QR code from the cell phone that has a device compatible with the new update.”
