The Ministry of Cultural Affairs has rolled out 303 digital services of its various departments in a bid to facilitate the Digital Bangladesh journey.
Of these, 96 are civic services, 19 are business-related services and 218 are internal services.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, as chief guest, inaugurated the services at the National Museum in the capital.
“In the last 12 years, the country could hold the economic growth at minimum 5.24 percent even during the Corona epidemic,” said the state minister.
He added that since the introduction of the e-document system in 2016, more than 1.5 crore electronics file management systems have been completed.
“During the pandemic period, 11,000 offices and millions of officials used electronic file management software (e-documents) developed by A2I. This has saved hundreds of crores of taka,” Palak added.
The state minister further said that the ICT department would provide all possible assistance including digitization of 73 libraries, Central Archives, Bangla Academy under the ministry.
The state minister for Culture KM Khalid presided over the function.
He said in the last one and half years, 17 ministries have been merged and more than a thousand services have been digitised and brought to a single platform, MyGov.
“Out of 17 departments under our ministry, digitisation of 10 departments has been completed. The rest will come under digitalisation soon,” Khalid added.
