NASA Space Apps Challenge registration open till Wednesday

The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) along with the BASIS Students' Forum has started the 7th edition of ‘NASA Space Apps Challenge-2021’ on Sunday.

The Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) for the first time has supported the competition, said a press release.

Students from all over the country will be able to register for the exciting challenge till Wednesday (September 15).

The final competition will be held online at a time in 251 cities worldwide on October 2-3 this year.

NASA Space Apps Challenge is an international mass collaboration focused on space exploration that takes place across the globe, the release reads.

The regional contest will take place in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Barisal, Khulna, Cumilla and Mymensingh.

The regional winners will get the opportunity to participate in the final competition.

“This year's NASA Space Apps Challenge competition is being held online. I call our students to participate in the competition from wherever you are,” said Farhana A Rahman, senior vice-president of the BASIS.

Interested students can do registration through the website-- http://bsf.basis.org.bd/NASA-Registration-Form, it said.

In the coming days, UGC will support the BASIS in organizing competitions like this. "The UGC is working to connect our academia with our industries,” said Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, its director of the Information Management of Communication and Training division.
