ICT Secretary visits Walton factory, launches new model of laptop

Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division N M Ziaul Alam visited Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited in Gazipur’s Chandra on Saturday. 

During his visit, he also launched a new model of Walton laptop named “Prelude N41”. 

Chairman of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd S M Rezaul Alam was present on the occasion.

Prior to launching the new laptop, the ICT Senior Secretary enjoyed a corporate documentary on Walton. Then he visited Walton’s product display center, refrigerator, mold and die, metal casting, compressor, SMT, air conditioner, PCB, television, laptop and mobile phone, elevator production. 

Deputy Managing Director of Walton Alamgir Alam Sarker, Executive Directors Liakat Ali and Yousuf Ali, Deputy Executive Director Shaninoor Sultana among others were present during the visit.
 
Speaking on the occasion, the ICT Senior Secretary said, “Walton is the 'Made in Bangladesh' ambassador. Walton is one of the pioneer companies in the country's IT sector. They are manufacturing hardware as well as software,” N M Ziaul Alam said during the visit. 

“Walton has product diversity. The biggest thing is that Walton is producing the products that are needed for the backward linkage of an industry. The Walton made products are also exported,” he added. 

Regarding the laptop he inaugurated, Ziaul Alam said that the product is very handy, affordable and suitable for students.
