BCB increases salaries for national women cricketers

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has restructured the payroll of national women cricketers, increasing their salaries by 20 percent.

The new salary structure comes into effect from July 1.

BCB’s Women Wing Chairman Nadel Chowdhury confirmed the development to the media on Thursday.

''We have increased the salary of the women cricketers by 20 percent this month. Besides, we raised their match remunerations,'' he added.

For T20, the match fee for each player was $75, which increased to $150. It has been increased to $300 from the earlier $100 for an ODI match. Besides, the match fee for the Asian champions has also been increased.

The BCB have also decided to increase the number of national contracted women cricketers.

So far, it has awarded national contracts to 22 female cricketers, who have been divided into four categories – A, B, C, D.

With the 20 percent increase in salary, an A category player will receive Tk 60,000, B category Tk 48,000, C category Tk 36,000 and D category player will get Tk 25,000.
