Shakib set to back in BCB’s central contract list

Bangladesh superstar Shakib Al Hasan who was dropped from the last central contract list due to one-year ban imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC), is among BCB's new centrally-contracted players list, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Nazmul Hasan Papon confirmed the matter to media on Tuesday evening after BCB’s emergency board meeting.
The list is yet to be announced but Papon said Shakib is in the list. However, the BCB president did not say in which format Shakib will be included in the latest contract. Papon also hinted 18–20 cricketers are set to be included in the new central contract of the BCB.
“This is yet to be finalise in which format Shakib will be included in the contract. We will talk to the cricketers in which format of cricket they are interested to play. If anyone does not want to play Test cricket they need to know. So, we have to talk to them first.” Papon said.
“Cricket Operation will be announced the list soon. There are 18–20 cricketers in the list including some newcomers.” Papon added.
The ban of Shakib was lifted in October last year and Shakib returned to competitive cricket with a T20 tournament organised by the BCB in mid-November.
