Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has received a three match ban in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) T20 for his angry outburst on Friday during a DPL match against arch-rival Abahani Limited.
al Hasan has also been fined Tk 5 lakh for his discourteous behavior during the match, Kazi Inam, chairman of Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis made the announcement at a press conference this evening.
Earlier on Friday, the high-voltage DPL match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited saw Mohammedan captain Shakib Al Hasan losing his composure twice.
Shakib had strongly appealed against Abahani skipper Mushfiqur Rahim but the umpire turned it down. Later, Shakib kicked the stump and started abusing the umpire.
A little later he threw the stumps in anger after the umpire called for cover due to rain.
After Mohammedan’s win, Shakib issued an apology for his behaviour in his Facebook page.
Shakib, 34, has a history of losing coolness and becoming a party to ugly exchanges and has been reprimanded and fined on several occasions for his ugly behaviour.
