Australia announces preliminary squad for Bangladesh tour

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the preliminary squad for their upcoming tour to Bangladesh consisting of 29 cricketers. 

The National Selection Panel has added Ben McDermott, Dan Christian, Cameron Green, Ashton Turner, Wes Agar and Nathan Ellis to the preliminary list of players. 

CA will announce the final touring squad in the coming weeks, after initially announcing a 23-player extended list last month that included a number of players from the now-suspended Indian Premier League.

From the list, McDermott and Christian are currently playing for in the County Championship. On the other hand, Cameron made his ODI debut last summer against India and Ashton has performed well across his 17 ODI and T20I matches for Australia dating back to 2017.

Australia is set to tour West Indies and then on return, they will visit Bangladesh for five T20Is as preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup.
