Nigar Sultana Joti led from the front with a sparkling century as hosts Bangladesh Emerging Women team dealt South Africa Emerging Women a 110-run humiliation to maintain their unbeaten run against the tourists in the fourth one-day match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The result gives Tigresses a 4-0 lead in the five-match series.

The one-down batsman who struck century in the second match, blasted an unbeaten 101 to lay the platform for victory as hosts posted a challenging 236 for four in the stipulated 50 overs.

Leg spinner Fahima Khatun then took four for 29 as Bangladesh bowlers choked the run flow to dismiss South Africa to 126 in 46.5 overs.

Opted to bat first, Tigresses lost their opener Sharmin Sultana (10) early but they quickly recovered the early damage.

After skipper Nigar Sultana teamed with opener Murshida Khatun for an 82-run partnership, Sobhana Mostary smacked 45 off 52 balls. Lata Mondal also boosted some late flurry with unbeaten 16-ball 25.

The player of the match Nigar Sultana clubbed eight fours and a six in her brilliant century.

Leg-spinner Fahima Khatun, Salma Khatun, Ritu Moni, Nahida Akhtar and Lata Mondol then put in a combined effort to dismiss the visitors for 126 runs on a slow wicket.

Anneke Boschwas was the only batsman to offer some kind of resistance with 63 off 81 balls. Only two other batsmen — Andrie Steyn (12) and Nondumiso Shangase (11) — could reach the double digit.

Visitors lost three top order batsmen for 32 runs but seemed to have recovered when Anneke Bosch led the charge and played some impressive strokes.

The game decisively swung the Tigresses’ way when the visitors lost three wickets in space of two overs as they collapsed from 3-59 to 6-66.

The fifth and the final match will be held at the same venue on Tuesday.
