Bangladesh will go into the third ODI against Ireland Thursday to seal the three-match series with another emphatic triumph.

In the first match, Bangladesh dominated the field with an impressive 183-run win, thanks to Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy whose 90-odd innings left Ireland struggling to keep up.

The second match saw the hosts reach new heights, achieving their highest ODI total of 349. But the match was abandoned because of the rain.

Ahead of the third ODI, Bangladesh’s pace-bowling coach, Allan Donald, said it is possible to score 400 runs against the Irish attack on the Sylhet tracks, which are fast like South African wickets.

Bangladesh posted 338 in the first match. In the next match, they posted 349.

“In the first match, two of us scored 90, and in the second match, there were two 70s; so it is possible to score even more runs on this wicket. Even 400 is also possible,” Donald said.

Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz returned to practice after recovering from an injury he sustained ahead of the first match in Sylhet.

After the ODI series, both teams will compete in a three-match T20I series in Chattogram, starting March 27.

Bangladesh has already announced their T20 team.

The Tigers included two uncapped players, Rishad Hossain and Jaker Ali Anik in their squad.

Shoriful Islam made a comeback. To make way for the new players, the Bangladesh management dropped Afif Hossain, Tanvir Islam, and Rejaur Rahman Raja.
