New Zealand women's team comfortably won a 20-over match against Bangladesh by a margin of 63 runs in a one-sided encounter in Dunedin.

Sophie Amelia Kerr made the difference with an impressive innings of 48 off 31 balls, laced with five boundaries and scoring at an astonishing strike rate of 154.83.

Captain Sophie Devine was the second-best batter for New Zealand scoring 47 off 33 balls with seven boundaries.

But Suzie Bates (9), Lauren Down (6), Maddy Green (11) and Rebecca Burns (0) all failed to reach a double-digit for New Zealand Women.

For Bangladesh, Marufa Akter, Salma Khatun, Nahida Akter, Fariha Trisna and Rabeya Khan were successful with the ball, as they shared the five wickets between them while two were trapped in run-out.

Bangladesh women put up a tricky target, but their batting line-up couldn’t fire and they crumbled to 89/7 in 20 overs with Rumana Ahmed’s 25 being the top-scorer. Lea Tahuhu claimed 3/13 in her four overs, being the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand women.

With this win, New Zealand completed a clean sweep over Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series.

These teams will now lock horns in a three-match ODI series on December 11, 14 and 17 at Wellington, Napier, and Hamilton, respectively.
