The runner-up of the 2018 World Cup, Croatia earned a single point in their first match of the Qatar Wor Cup as the match against Morocco ended in a goalless draw at the Al Bayt stadium on Wednesday.
There was not much to split the sides, with both of them having just two shots on target each in the game. Croatia had the better of the first-half chances, with Ivan Perisic and Luka Modric firing over and Nicola Vlasic forcing a good save out of Yassine Bounou.
After the break, Noussair Mazraoui saw a diving header pushed away before Dominik Livakovic denied Achraf Hakimi's powerful long-range strike.
It was a point apiece for Morocco and Croatia as they opened Group F. Up next for Morocco is a tough test against Belgium, while Croatia face Canada, with both of those games taking place on Sunday.
