After an impressive bowling performance, Pakistan batted really well against Bangladesh in the Women’s Asia Cup T20 at the Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium on Monday.

After winning the toss, the visitors invited the Tigresses to bat first and restricted them to only 70 runs. The defending champion lost eight batters to post that small total on the board. They played 30 dot balls.

In reply, Pakistan lost just one wicket to reach there in 12.2 overs and won the match by nine wickets.

It was a solid start with the bat for Pakistan as the openers - Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen made a partnership of 49 runs which was enough to ensure the victory.

Skipper Bismah Maroof walked out and completed the chase, with a 20-ball-12 to compliment Sidra's knock of 36.

Salma Khatun picked up the only wicket for Bangladesh.

Earlier in the first innings, it was really a poor start from the hosts as they lost their first three batters inside five overs and managed to collect only three runs. They continuously lost wickets in the middle and the biggest compliment someone can give Bangladesh is that they batted out their 20 overs.

Only six boundaries were hit throughout the innings and three batters - Salma Khatun, Nigar Sultana and Lata Mondal managed to touch the double-figure runs and helped their side to cross the 50-run mark.

Diana Baig and Nida Dar picked up two wickets each while Sadia Iqbal and Omaima Sohail bagged one each for Pakistan.
