Naseem hospitalised with pneumonia

Naseem Shah

Naseem Shah has been hospitalised after contracting pneumonia and is likely to miss the remainder of the England T20Is. As per reports, the Pakistan fast bowler was admitted to hospital late on Tuesday night.

"The decision on Naseem Shah's further participation in the [England] series will be taken after reviewing his medical reports," the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement, report Cricbuzz.

After the conclusion of the series in England on October 2, Pakistan will head to New Zealand the next day to feature in a T20I tri-series also featuring Bangladesh which will go on from October 7 to 14. They then leave for Australia for the World Cup, where their campaign begins on October 23 against India in Melbourne.

PCB will hope Naseem, who filled in admirably for the injured Shaheen Afridi during the recently-concluded Asia Cup, will recover in time to feature in the multi-team event.
