Bangladesh collected 290 runs after losing nine wickets in the second match of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

It was a flying start for the Tigers after asking to bat first. Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah hit half-centuries while Najmul Hossain Shanto and Afif Hossain played brilliantly as well.

Tiger skipper Tamim brought up his second fifty in this series with the help of 10 gorgeous-looking boundaries and a maximum. He took just 44 balls to reach there. However, he gave away his wicket in the nest ball. Tanaka Chivanga was the wicket-taker.

On the other hand, Mahmudullah started slowly but caught up later. He played the anchor role in this match and remained unbeaten for 80 of 84 deliveries.

Tamim and Ananmul Haque Bijoy started the innings for the visitors. Litton Das was ruled out of the series as he sustained an injury in the first match which they lost by five wickets.

Bijoy was moving slowly but could not carry on and walked off after scoring 20 off 25 deliveries. Mushfiqur Rahim and Shanto were looking sharp in the middle but Mushfiqur walked back to the pavilion after scoring 25 runs. Wesley Madhevere removed him.

Post that, Mahmudullah and Shanto tried to make a big partnership. However, this time Shanto was the man to depart as Madhevere claimed his second wicket of the match. Shanto made 38 runs.

Afif who played a brilliant knock of 41 runs from the same number of deliveries was dismissed by Sikandar Raza who was the hero for Zimbabwe in the previous match trapped him. He tried to hit a reverse-sweep but ended up giving up his wicket.

Later, Mehidy Hasan Miraz came into the middle and was looking aggressive but could not carry on as he walked off after scoring 15 off 12 balls. Raza trapped Miraz as the ball struck on the pad.

Raza claimed three wickets while Madhevere picked up two. Chivanga and Victor Nyauchi claimed one wicket each for the hosts.
