It was an impressive batting display from the West Indies batters, especially from Kyle Mayers as he smashed a ton to put his side in pole position on day 2 in the St Lucia Test on Saturday.

Mayers decorated his innings with 15 boundaries and two over-boundaries. It was his second Test hundred and also second against Bangladesh. He was unbeaten on 126 runs.

After the end of the second-day play, the hosts were 340 for five and took 106 runs lead. The partnership between Mayers-Jermaine Blackwood and Mayers-Joshua Da Silva helped the Windies to take the lead.

West Indies started the day perfectly, but just before the lunch break, Tiger bowlers were looking aggressive and picked up four wickets.

Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell were looking sharp in the middle and Bangladesh badly needed a breakthrough.

Seamer Shoriful Islam did the trick and dismissed Campbell. Campbell walked off after scoring 45 runs.

Raymon Reifer came into the middle to support their skipper Brathwaite. Brathwaite smashed a half-century but could not carry on. Mehidy Hasan Miraz removed him.

In the next over, Khaled Ahmed came into the attack and provided his team a moment of celebration as he bowled out Reifer. Reifer walked back to the pavilion after scoring 22 runs.

In that same over Khaled dismissed Nkrumah Bonner back. After facing seven deliveries, Bonner went for a duck.

Afterward, Mayers and Blackwood collected 111 runs in the second session and after the end of that session, Mayers was on 60 while Blackwood was unbeaten on 40 runs.

However, after coming into bat in the third session, Blackwood could not add any more runs to his name and walked back to the pavilion. Later, Joshua came into the middle to support Mayers.

Khaled and Miraz picked up two wickets each while Shoriful claimed one for the visitors.
