West Indies restricted Bangladesh to 234 on the first day of the second and final Test at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia on Friday.

The Windies toiled hard in the first session but some indiscipline with the ball did not help them. But after the lunch break, they bowled better and picks up four wickets.

After tea break, the hots took 13.1 overs to send the last four batters back to the pavilion.

Liton Das was the only player to hit a half-century for Bangladesh in the first innings. His important 53 runs helped his side to go close to the 250-run mark.

The Tigers were in trouble after losing four wickets in the second session. They went to tea break after collecting 159 runs but six batters were already dismissed. Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were in the middle.

Tamim Iqbal was looking solid and was close to smashing a half-century. But Alzarri Joseph dismissed him. The left-handed batter walked off after scoring 46 runs.

Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy was the first wicket to fall. He could not perform well and threw his wicket away. Anderson Phillip removed him. Joy walked back after scoring 10 runs.

Najmul Hossain Shanto was doing his job perfectly, but after scoring 26 runs he walked off.

Anamul Haque Bijoy who came back into the team after eight-long years could not make that much impact as he had to walk back after a 23-run knock.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan who hit back-to-back half-centuries was dismissed for just eight runs while Nurul Hasan Shohan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were the two other batters who walked off after scoring less than 10 runs.

Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales picked up three wickets each while Anderson Phillip and Kyle Mayers claimed two each for the hosts.
