It was a disastrous start for Bangladesh on day 4 of the Dhaka Test as they lost three early wickets after collecting only 23 runs on Thursday.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy was looking good in the middle but the other opener Tamim Iqbal was dismissed for a duck for the second time in this Test.

Later, Najmul Hossain Shanto left the crease as Praveen Jayawickrama broke the stumps and Shanto was well short of his crease. He scored two runs.

Tiger skipper Mominul Haque was flop again with this bat. He walked off after scoring none and was removed by Kasun Rajitha.

Afterward, Joy threw his wicket away. Asitha Fernando claimed the wickets of both the Tiger openers.

After the end of day 4 play, Bangladesh were 34 for four and were 107 runs behind.

Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 506 runs in their first innings and took a lead of 141 runs. Shakib Al Hasan claimed five while Ebadot Hossain picked up four.

Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal were looking really sharp as they ensured not to let their guard down at any point and did not really give any chances at all to their opponents. Later, they lost all five remaining wickets in the last session.

Mathews and Chandimal both notched up centuries. In the end, Mathews remained unbeaten for 145 runs.
