Dhaka experienced a shower on Wednesday and except for that, it was a perfect day for both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as the visitors added 139 runs while the hosts picked up three wickets on day 3 of the Dhaka Test.

After the end of day 3 play, the Lankans were 282 for five and were 83 runs behind.

Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne added 10 to his overnight 70, but it was Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva who stole the show, adding 102 runs for the fifth wicket.

Both batters were hardly troubled, with the latter in particular playing some pleasing shots. It needed a fine review to nip his innings in the bud, after getting past his 10th Test half-century.

However, Mathews has continued to pile on the runs, getting to his own fifty and promising plenty more on Thursday.

Earlier, the second session of the day was washed away due to a passing shower. That forced the lunch session five balls earlier than the scheduled time.

Shakib had figures of 3/59 while Ebadot Hossain took 2/78.
