It was a disastrous first session for Bangladesh in the second and final Test at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Monday.

After winning the toss, Mominul Haque decided to bat first against Sri Lnaka. But they lost five early wickets and were in huge trouble. Three batters went for ducks.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy was the first batter to leave the crease. After facing two deliveries of Kasun Rajitha, he went for a duck.

Later in the second over, Tamim Iqbal who was on the verge of becoming the second batter to reach 5000 Test runs, went for a duck as well.

Skipper Mominul came into the middle, but could not make any difference. He walked off after scoring nine runs. This was his seven straight innings to be dismissed for less than 10 runs.

In the seventh over, Rajitha struck twice and was on a hat-trick. He could not achieve that rare fate but the damage was already done as the Lankan seamer removed Najmul Hossain Shanto and Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib could not score any runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das were in the middle. They were trying to turn things around for the Tigers. Bangladesh were 66 for five after seven overs.

Rajitha picked up three while Asitha Fernando claimed two wickets so far for the visitors.
