Milan clinch Serie A title

A first win over Sassuolo at the third time of asking was enough to see Milan crowned champions of Italy on Sunday- winning the Scudetto with 86 points; two ahead of rivals Inter to seal their first victory since 2010-11. 

The job was done at half-time for the Rossoneri, who quickly accumulated an unassailable 3-0 lead thanks to a double from Olivier Giroud and a farewell strike from Franck Kessie; all assisted by Rafael Leao.

The sting was taken out of the match after the restart with the Neroverdi looking to limit the damage and Milan were happy to see out the final 45 minutes in comfort en-route to a title win. 

The convincing performance sealed Milan’s 19th Scudetto - the first title for Pioli - while Sassuolo finished the year in 10th place.
