Bangladesh dominated day 4 of the Chattogram Test as they took lead in their first innings and later, dismissed two Sri Lankan batters on Wednesday.

The Lankan Lions collected 39 runs after losing two wickets and were trailed by 29 runs after the end of day 4 play.

Oshada Fernando and Lasith Embuldeniya’s wickets helped the Tigers tighten their grip on the opening Test.

Earlier, Bangladesh were forced to declare their first innings in the Chattorgram Test on Wednesday as Shoriful Islam appeared to be in some pain. Apart from that blow, it was a pretty solid innings for the hosts, who practically ensured that they cannot lose this Test.

The Tigers posted 465 runs and took a lead of 68 runs.

Sri Lanka did extremely well to limit it to that after the game looked to be drifting away from them in the morning session when Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim looked in total control.

Kasun Rajitha ended with innings best figures of four for 60, while Asitha Fernando claimed three for 72. Both the quicks really put in a hard shift to pull their side back into this game.

As for Bangladesh, they had two centurions in Mushfiqur and Tamim Iqbal- the former also becoming the first Bangladesh cricketer to go past 5,000 runs - while Litton and Mahmudul Joy Hasan notched up half-centuries.
