2 IPL teams contacted Shakib: Umme Al Hasan

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is not playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this time. The matter was confirmed on Sunday evening. 

He is one of the best all-rounders in the world and remained unsold in the IPL auction. His name was called on both Saturday and Sunday, but no one showed interest. Judging by his recent performances, this was quite unexpected. 

But Shaikb’s wife Umme Al Hasan is saying something else. Shakib is often criticised for wanting to play in the IPL instead of playing for the country. His wife has raised that issue in the post as well.

She posted on social media, “Before you get too excited a couple of teams contacted him directly ahead of time if he can be available for the full season, but unfortunately he can’t due to Sri Lanka series! This is why he did not get picked which is not a big deal, it is not the end, there’s always next year! In order to be picked he needed to skip SL series, so if he was picked would you have said the same? or would you have made him a traitor by now? Sorry to pour water on your excitement!”

Shakib played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also has the experience to win the title with Kolkata.
