A debut goal plus an assist from Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian second-half cameo sealed a remarkable comeback for Aston Villa to ensure one point against Manchester United on Sunday.

It was a perfect start for the Red Devils who took an early lead in the match. In the sixth minute, Bruno Fernandes swept the ball in towards the near post and Edinson Cavani flicked a leg out towards it. He appeared to miss entirely, but it distracted the Villa keeper Emi Martinez’s attention enough for him to fumble the shot and let it fall between his legs and over the goal-line.

In the 67th minute, the Portuguese star was at the double and he almost took the back of the net off with his strike. It was simply a thunderbolt to make the scoreline 2-0 for Manchester United.

And after that, it was a Philippe Coutinho show as after providing an assist he found the net as well.

In the 77th minute, Coutinho took only a few minutes to get into the swing of things at Villa Park and he hurled them back into this game with a glorious assist. Jacob Ramsey scored the goal.

And just after three minutes, Coutinho scored his first goal in his first game for Villa. Ramsey spotted him and rolled the ball across the face of the goal. Coutinho knocked into an unguarded net from a couple of yards and earned a point for his side.

The Brazilian said, “I missed these games, I missed the Premier League. I am very happy to be here with my new teammates."

Villa’s point moves them above Brentford into 13th, while United remain in seventh.
