Shakib Al Hasan nominated for ICC Player of the Year

Finally a good news for Bangladesh Cricket as Tiger all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been nominated for the ICC ODI Player of the Year for 2021.
Shakib has played nine ODIs this year. He scored 277 runs at an average of 39.57 with the bat. The veteran player bagged two half-centuries as well.
Shakib’s 97 against Zimbabwe in Harare was his best innings of the year. He also took 17 wickets at an average of 17.52.

Earlier in January, Shakib returned to cricket after a two year ban (suspended for one year). He came back in style against West Indies. He was named the Player of the Series for his wild performance.
The other three cricketers nominated are: Babar Azam (Pakistan), Janneman Malan (South Africa), and Paul Stirling (Ireland).
