Bangladesh women’s cricket team came back home on December 1 from Zimbabwe with a very good news. They qualified for the Women's Cricket World Cup for the first time.

But the bad news is two cricketers have tested positive for Covid-19 and it's assumed that they have been infected with the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron. The medical department of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed it.

According to the BCB source, the players were tested seven times after their arrival.

The qualifying round was called off midway because of the outbreak of Covid-19. After coming back, the cricketers immediately headed to Hotel Sonargaon to serve a five-day quarantine.

The infected players have isolated themselves from others. Others are staying at the hotel. But it is still unknown who those two cricketers are.
