Bangladesh won the fourth Twenty20I against New Zealand by 6 wickets in a low-scoring thriller to register their first-ever series win against Kiwis in the format at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Earlier, Bangladesh restricted New Zealand at 93 runs as Nasum Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman grabbed 4 wickets each by their dominant bowling.

In chase of the target, Bangladesh were in trouble when they lost the opener Liton Das (6) with a stunning catch to Finn Allen.

Afterward, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Naim made a small partnership of 24 runs, but Shakib fell prey to Ajaz Patel being stumped by the Kiwi skipper Latham.

Sometimes later, Patel again dismissed experienced batsmen Mushfiqur Rahim, who was bowled for naught while attempting to a reverse sweep.

Then, Mahmudullah came to the crease. He added 35 runs with Naim Sheikh for the fourth wicket. Naim scored 29 runs before being run out.

However, Mahmudullah’s heroic knock of 43 runs led the side to clinch the consecutive third T20I series win. Mahmudullah and Afif Hossain comfortably took the side to victory as they chased down the target of 94 runs with six wickets and five balls in hand.

After Zimbabwe and Australia, the Tigers set the triumph over the Kiwis with one match remaining.

Tigers and Kiwis will lock horns in their last encounter on Friday at the same venue.
