Pakistan is committed to close friendly ties with Bangladesh, said the country’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He tweeted on Saturday conveying the message of commitment, while attending the 29th Ministerial Meeting of ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Cambodia.

The Pak foreign minister met Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at the ARF meeting on Friday.

In the tweet, he wrote: “Had the pleasure of meeting FM AK Abdul Momen @BDMOFA of Bangladesh on the sidelines of ARF in Cambodia yesterday. I conveyed to him Pakistan’s commitment to close friendly ties with our brothers & sisters of Bangladesh. Also conveyed my best wishes to PM Sheikh Haseena.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Zardari stopped in Bangladesh on his way to Cambodia to attend the 29th Ministerial ARF meeting, which is being held from August 4 and will end on August 6.

The Pakistan foreign minister during his transit in Chattogram conveyed his compliments and a message of goodwill for the Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and the people of Bangladesh.

“While flying over Bangladesh, I wish to convey my personal best wishes for Your Excellency's good health and happiness and for ever-increasing progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of Bangladesh,” Zardari said.
