Delhi has expressed its eagerness to Dhaka’s proposal on operating flights between the two neighbouring countries by this week amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But the schedule of the flight operation has not yet been fixed. However, the Indian civil aviation ministry has begun talks with the respective airlines to shuttle the timetable, reports BBC Bangla.

Besides, an official in the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, said that they did not get any instruction in this regard till filing of the report at 2pm Tuesday.

While talking to the Business Insider Bangladesh, Tahera Khandaker, deputy general manager of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said they have not been given any directive yet to operate flights between the two countries.

The commercial flight operation between the two countries has been suspended for the last four months due to the evolving situation of the coronavirus outbreak.

BBC in its reports said that the flight operations will resume by the current week under the Air Babbles management.

Quoting Bangladesh High Commissioner in India Mohammad Imran, BBC said Dhaka proposed Delhi to resume the flight operations under the Air Bubbles management from August 11.

On the contrary, sources in the India side, said the authority is hatching an effort to resume the flight services by the current week.

India suddenly suspended the flight operation with Bangladesh soon after the first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020.

Later, the flight operations resumed under the Air Bubbles management on a regular basis but it went off in April in the current year as the Delta variant of coronavirus had taken a serious turn in India at that time.
