Three underpasses will be constructed on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway to ease traffic congestion on the route that handles the country’s most of the external trade.
Also, a U-loop will be made at Padua Bazar, an intersection of three roads in Cumilla on the highway.
The approval came at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Ecnec approved 10 projects, involving over Tk 2,575 crore. Of which, foreign assistance is estimated to be Tk 425 crore.
The ECNEC meeting, which is the first of its kind this fiscal year, was held virtually. Later, Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed journalists about the outcome of the meeting.
