Bangladesh has finally approved the trial use of Bangavax, also known as Bancovid, developed by local Globe Biotech Limited last year.
Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC), an autonomous national research body, on Wednesday gave the approval along with two other Covid-19 vaccines made by India and China.
The BMRC said all conditions must be met in accordance with the rules before the human trial.
According to BMRC sources, all documents on the effectiveness and side effects of these vaccines on chimpanzees and monkeys have to be submitted to the BMRC.
Earlier on January 17, this local organisation applied to the BMRC for permission to test their own coronavirus vaccine in human body.
After getting approval, the vaccine will be administered to volunteers for a trial.
Clinical Research Organisation, a BMRC approved organisation, submitted application to start a clinical trial on behalf of Globe Biotech.
