Lieutenant General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed is going to be the new chief of army staff.
The defence ministry issued a gazette in this regard on Thursday.
Shafiuddin Ahmed will be promoted as general on June 24 and on that day he will take the charge as chief of the army for the next three years. He will succeed General Aziz Ahmed.
