2 engineers arrested for providing illegal gas connections in Ctg

Two engineers of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited were on Thursday arrested on charge of providing gas connections using false documents without the government’s permission.

The arrestees are Divisional Deputy Manager M Sorower Hossain and Engineer Mujibur Rahman.

Deputy Assistant Director of Anti-Corruption Commission of Chattogram M Sharif Uddin filed the case.

When produced before a court, judge Sheikh Ashfakur Rahman ordered the police to send them to jail.

Back in 2016, the ACC had found five officials who provided the illegal gas connections using false documents without the government’s permission.
