Public transports suspended again in new lockdown

The government suspended all types of public transports on roads, air routes and waterways in the all-out lockdown starting from Wednesday to curb the fresh surge in Covid-19 cases.

The cabinet division on Monday issued a statutory regulatory order (SRO) in this regard.

However, cargos for goods supply and vehicles associated with emergency services are kept out of the restriction.

The government earlier suspended public transports for the second phase of lockdown starting on April 5. It, however, had to withdraw the ban for metropolitan cities after two days, as people particularly office-goers suffered worst to go to their workstations.

Keeping the offices open was the main reason behind the sufferings.

In the fresh lockdown, all offices including public and private ones are instructed to keep closed for a week to be ended April 21.
